What is a group litigation?

Group litigation is a legal action which requires approval. When approval is sought and granted then others may join the group of litigants who all essentially are advancing the same issues to the court. Of course, the court will select a variety of different cases contained in the groups and then hand down the judgment in each case and to those other cases which are waiting in the wings.

Group actions are generally slower than single actions, however, they provide similar fact based evidence testimony and the cost per litigation is less. This will limit your exposure to “paying legal costs”.
